Samantha Hunt

Family Educator

Sam joined Child Inspired in the winter of 2022, after attending a family-centered, community workshop at the Lewes Library with her young daughter a few months earlier. Sam has 8 years of experience working as an educator and instructional support for students with special needs at Kent County Community School (KCCS) and Charlton School. Sam has pursued advanced training in Handwriting without Tears and as a Picture Exchange Trainer, and has a passion for working with children with autism and communication challenges. Sam gained experience teaching life skills, and supporting an interdisciplinary team in the development and implementation of lesson plans, picture exchange for communication, and behavior intervention plans. She went through the Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) training, before becoming a mom to two beautiful girls. Sam’s role with Child Inspired includes providing support to our team of therapists, creating visual supports (visual schedules, first-then boards, choice boards, social stories, and behavioral supports), helping to teach picture exchange communication with children and families. With experience as a coach and cheerleader, Sam brings positivity and enthusiasm to her efforts to connect with kids and families throughout our community. She loves spending time with her husband, 2 daughters, and adorable dog JJ in their new home in Southern Delaware.
