Evaluations & Therapy for
Children, Teens, & Young Adults

Evaluations

What to Expect

Our services will begin with an in-depth look at your child's current skills. We will ask you some questions about your child's developmental journey and observe your child as they play, learn, and/or complete functional activities. We may also complete standardized assessments to best understand your child's strengths and areas of need.

Based on the results, our therapists will let you know whether therapy services are recommended. We will use the information we gained to make a plan of care and set goals that improve the daily lives of your child and family.

What Comes Next

Our goal is to help your family better understand the "why" of your child's developmental delays, learning needs, or behaviors. Our evaluations will get to the bottom of these challenges and help us make a plan to overcome them together.

Our Services

Our Approach

At Child Inspired, therapy sessions often look like play— because a child's best learning occurs when they are engaged in activities that encourage exploration, creativity, and connection. But don't be fooled— it isn't all just child's play! We are building learning and skill development into everything we do.

Our therapists take a child- and family-centered approach to develop a rapport and connection with your child. We incorporate your child's interests into our sessions while using research-backed methods to help your child reach their goals.

Ages Served

We work with infants, toddlers, preschoolers, school-aged children, teens, and young adults throughout Southern Delaware.

Where We Provide Services

Child Inspired's practice framework is based upon a family-centered pediatric wellness model. Our therapeutic services are provided in our clinics, at clients' homes, in the community, at schools, and virtually.

Does your child have trouble understanding what they are told, making speech sounds, or expressing themselves through words? We can help! Our speech therapists will use children's books, games, toys, and creative activities to build your child's speech and language skills— all while having lots of fun!

Our speech therapy sessions will focus on:

  • Improving communication between your child and family

  • Developing foundational skills for learning and daily life

  • Improving social interactions with siblings and peers

  • Increasing participation in school or community activities

  • Expanding willingness to engage and play with other children

  • Growing your child's confidence to communicate

Feeding Therapy

Breast/Bottle Feeding Challenges • Picky Eating • Oral Motor & Feeding Delays • Tongue Tie • Cleft Lip/Palate • NG/G Tube Dependency • Medically Complex Feeding Needs • Trach/Vent • Avoidant Restrictive Food Intake Disorder (ARFID) • Sensory Processing Differences/Sensory Aversions

When children struggle with feeding, it can create stress and anxiety for the entire family. Feeding therapy will meet your child where they're at and support them "in the moment" as they breastfeed, bottle feed, eat a snack, or sit down for a meal. Don't be surprised when things get playfully messy— because children learn best when they get to explore, connect, and be creative!

With the help of our feeding specialists, your child will experience:

  • Better nutritional intake and physical growth

  • Improved gut and bowel health

  • Healthier sleep patterns

  • Improved attention, behavior, and self-regulation skills

  • Happier mealtimes for the whole family

Child Inspired takes an interdisciplinary approach with complex feeding cases, including a speech-language pathologist, occupational therapist, and mental health counselor, depending on your child's needs.
