Dig, Carry & Pull: The Therapeutic Benefits of ‘Heavy Work’ Play

Spring is a great time of the year to get outside and get those muscles moving! From freshening up flower beds to planting beautiful gardens, kids can join in the fun while calming their bodies through ‘Heavy Work’ play. Our Dig, Carry & Pull workshop will give children the opportunity to plant something they can tend to and nurture throughout the Summer. Caregivers will learn the benefits of ‘Heavy Work’ play for their wiggly worms and a wheelbarrow full of ideas.

About the Tools for Tots Series: Join us for family-child workshops to explore and promote healthy development. While caregivers enjoy a brief presentation by a member of Child Inspired’s therapy team and are encouraged to voice concerns or share experiences, children are invited to participate in a hands-on, developmentally-appropriate activity conducted by one of Child Inspired’s child educators. All workshops are FREE, approximately 60 minutes long, outdoors on the Lewes Library fenced patio. Programs will be held indoors in the event of inclement weather. Watch the Library’s Facebook page for an announcement by 9:00am on the day of the program, if weather is questionable.
