Tools for Tots: Potty Training

January 16 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Join us at the Lewes Public Library immediately after Children’s Story Time, for this FREE workshop to learn healthy, developmentally-appropriate tips and strategies that will help little ones embark positively into community experiences “Around Town”. Child Inspired’s therapy team will provide information while children are invited to participate in a hands-on, learning activity themed to each month’s “Around Town” topic. January’s Topic: “Gotta Go”: Potty-Training Strategies for Families on the Move.

Back by Request – Potty talk permitted! Toilet training is so much more than just a dreaded, necessary task to teach children to eliminate waste from their bodies. Toileting is a life-long, functional activity that requires attention to internal body sensations, relaxing one’s body to void, and LOTS of practice and patience. And why are public restroom hand dryers sooo loud?! Negative toileting experiences, medical conditions, and/or anxiety can delay potty-training or contribute to constipation and/or withholding behaviors.

Let’s reduce anxiety and overwhelm around this stinky topic (and yes…even have some fun)! Join Child Inspired’s pediatric specialists to learn developmentally-appropriate expectations and strategies for positive, successful potty-training at home and when moving & grooving around town. Supplies to create a fun make-and-take will be provided.
