Tools for Tots: Prep for Doctors Appointments

Join us at the Lewes Public Library immediately after Children’s Story Time, for this FREE workshop to learn healthy, developmentally-appropriate tips and strategies that will help little ones embark positively into community experiences “Around Town”. Child Inspired’s therapy team will provide information while children are invited to participate in a hands-on, learning activity themed to each month’s “Around Town” topic. February’s Topic: “Healthy Hearts”: Preparing Kids for Doctor Appointments.

This month we will focus on preparing kids for trips to the doctor. Check-ups, labwork, vaccinations, medical instruments, and medical jargon…oh my! Going to the doctor can be a challenging (though necessary) part of a kiddo’s development, but positive experiences help prepare children and families for a lifetime of good preventive care and improved health outcomes. Join Child Inspired’s pediatric specialists to learn positive tips and strategies for “medical play” at home and experiences with medical providers around town. Kids will have an opportunity to explore playful activities and prepare a fun make-and-take for their next trip to the doctor.
